Marco Mellia graduated from the Politecnico di Torino with Ph.D. in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering in 2001. Between February and October 1997, He was a Researcher supported by CSELT. During his PhD, he visited the Computer Science Department of Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, PA). In 2002, he visited the Sprint Advanced Technology Laboratories Burlingame (Burlingame, CA). In 2011 and 2012, He visited Narus Inc (Sunnyvale, CA). In 2017, he visited Cisco System, (San Jose, CA). In 2019 he was visiting professor at the Computer Science Department of the University Federal de Mina Gerais, Belo Horizonte (BR). He is a Fellow of IEEE, coordinator of the SmartData@PoliTO Interdepartmental Center, co-founder of Ermes Cybersecurity, coordinator of European Projects, among the top-10 most cited researchers and among the top-50 researchers attracting more funding of Politecnico di Torino, leading a group of more than 10 PhD students, chair of ACM CoNEXT, full professor of the Department of Control and Computer Engineering.
